Blind Bridle offers authentic cattle driving opportunities. Guests will be gathering cattle on the Henry Mountains, during the Spring of the year and again in the Fall when the calves are weaned. The Spring and Fall Gathers offer hands-on cowboy experiences in branding, marking and vaccinating cattle. Come along for the Spring Cattle Drive and test your horsemanship skills on easy terrain, and then return in the Fall to the rugged Henry Mountains to complete the total trip!
SPRING GATHER & BRANDING!
During our Spring Gather, camp will be set up at Eggnog Spring, located on the Southwestern side of the Henry Mountains and just North of Lake Powell. The adventure begins by gathering all the cattle from their winter range to Bridle Outfitter’s desert headquarters located at Eggnog Spring. While there guests will help with the branding, marking, and vaccinating of the cattle before herding them to their summer range on the Henry Mountains. The drive to the Mountain usually takes 2-3 days and is a real cattle drive over easy horse terrain. It will require keeping the herd together and pushing them to their destination.
You will be gathering and driving cattle through the many different assortments of landscape that surround Eggnog Spring. You will experience many rolling blue clay hills, lots of red rock canyons and brimstone. This area is located on the east side of Capitol Reef and the North Side of Glen Canyon National Park. Bullfrog Creek, for which Lake Powell’s Bullfrog Marina is named for, runs through this spectacular range of high majestic mesas and grassy benches.
Each day we will be working with the cattle whether branding or gathering. Each night we will be staying at the Eggnog camp and enjoying great cowboy cooked meals and lots of campfire story telling. Though we will be tent camping, Eggnog Spring camp also has a small cowboy bunk house equipped with a shower and protection from the elements. Rates & Dates! Reserve Now!

Our Fall Gather is located on the majestic Henry Mountains. We will be camping at one of three campsites known for their beautiful views. At the camps we’ll be staying in tents and as always having great cowboy cooked meals. We will also have a hot shower for your convenience at the end of the each day. Each year campsite selection is determined by the number of cattle in the area.
Do to the rugged and steep conditions of the Henry Mountains gathering the range requires locating and taking small groups of cattle down the mountain at a time. Once the majority of the cattle are gathered around the base of the mountain, guests will round them up and push them to their final destination at Eggnog Spring. While there, they will be vaccinated, sorted and the newly weaned calves will be sent home on trucks. The Fall Gather includes a lot of horse riding and many opportunities to observe the scenic wonders of the mountain and wildlife that live there. For guest interested in herding cattle in a more relaxing atmosphere, Blind Bridle Outfitters offers the Ride The Range adventure. This horse riding adventure will explore the beautiful areas of the Fishlake or Henry Mountains where Blind Bridle Cattle range during the summer. Guests will be riding through the cattle to assess range conditions, check for strays, look for sickness, and to monitor fences & watering holes. This ride offers many opportunities to observe wildlife and breathtaking mountain vistas.
